Texte dienen dem Künstler Hannes Widmann als Impuls und Inspiration für Zeichnungen und Bilder. Nicht Illustration, sondern bildnerische Aktion und Reaktion sind seine Triebfedern.
Der Text in seinen Bildern ist eine kleine, zarte Spur, die zu verfolgen, zu verästeln und in neue Richtungen zu führen sein Antrieb ist.
Nicht Lesbarkeit ist das Kriterium seiner Inhalte, der Weg vom Text zum Bild ist maßgeblich. Dabei spielt die spontane Zeichnung eine wichtige Rolle. Sie ist der ehrlichste Ausdruck des Künstlers, seines Inneren, seiner Vorstellungen und seiner Welt. Wie eine Handschrift, ohne Korrektur, die den Gesamteindruck verwischt. Der Reiz entsteht dabei aus dem Spontanen, dem Unvollendeten, das danach schreit, aufs Blatt gebannt zu werden, das in seiner Unfertigkeit der Vorstellungskraft von Künstler und Betrachter unendlichen Raum lässt, um sich darin zu verlieren.

As an artist, Hannes Widmann is inspired by texts for his drawings and paintings. Visual action and reaction – rather than illustration – are the driving forces in his art.
The text in the pictures is a small, delicate trace which meanders and follows entirely new directions as it branches out. Readability is not the criterion of his work. It is the transition from text to image that is his main objective. That is where the spontaneity of his art plays an important role. It is the most honest expression of the artist's inner self, his ideas and his perception of the world. Like handwriting, without correction, it blurs the overall impression.
The appeal arises from the spontaneous, the unfinished, which begs to be captured on paper or canvas. In its incompleteness it leaves infinite space to the imagination of artist and recipient to lose oneself in.
